Second fender tag says "SPECIAL HANDLING" - I was told this could mean anything from the car being built for a celebrity, a Chrysler executive or a dealership owner. Regardless of who it was built for it also means that special attention was given to the assembly of the car and the paint job.
I have the original owners manual and certicard and copies of the title from a couple of different owners.
Misc info
This car is an excellent driver and would be an easy restoration if you want to make it a show car
This is an 11 year old amateur restoration. The left 1/4 panel was replaced and a patch panel on the right 1/4. Trunk, floor pans and frame rails are solid .Â
The motor is a '66 or '67 block with 516 heads. Standard bore as far as i know. The heads were reworked for hardened valves/seats. Larger valves were installed at that time, 1.74 exhaust don't remember the intake size. Also has HP exhaust manifolds.
New tranny and torque converter in '95-'96. Car was originally a column shift car , converted to floor console. When restored larger 11" brakes were installed, heavier sway bar, torsion bars and 8 3/4 suregrip w/3:23 gears .
Wheel lip mouldings, fender mounted turn signals ( I have an NOS turn signal to replace the one on the car that is pitted ) and rear window defogger are NOS. Also a new wiring harness at time of restoration. Oh and yes that is a Roadrunner hood .
Miles are original as far as I know ( 74, XXX ). Approximately 5,000 miles on motor since restoration.Â
I recently had the paint wet sanded and buffed and it shines great ! UPDATE : Having the car repainted ( outside only ) . Should be finished Sept 1st, 2003
I can supply the name and phone number of the owner who did the restoration if need be.
Video will be available also for plus shipping.
